We are deeply sorry to annouce that our Managing Director, Anthony Peter O'Leary (Les), sadly passed away on January 9th. He was a titan, and battled all the way to the end surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
Les incorporated TLR in 1991 following his return to the U.K. after a period in California where he opened a Silicon Valley office for Marconi Defence Systems.
TLR initially began working with Jane's Information Group (the major defence publisher) for their consulting department with Charles Le Mesurier. The business slowly grew from there.
Around 1996, TLR began to move into software development, producing the first CD ROM of the Farnborough airshow and also a trade catalogue for Reed International. The software part of the business grew at pace with everysite, our information technology services operation, being established in 2001.
Over more than 30 years, Les built TLR into the successful business it is today providing software services to a wide range of standards bodies, government agencies, companies, charities and universities. He will be sadly missed by all the team at TLR as we take over the mantle, committed to taking the business forward with Les in our hearts.
We will be holding a funeral for Les on 14 February 2025, 1pm at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium in Hatfield, all are welcome to help celebrate the remarkable impact he had on our world. The ceremony will be live streamed - please get in touch if you would like to watch live or afterwards.
